Set the placements of your seat and mirrors. A red led within the Memory (top one) button turns on when the button is pressed. You don’t keep holding down the Memory button.

I’ve created my driver profile, connected it to the My BMW app and connected drive, and linked it to my key.
When I get back in the car after someone else has driven it, the key does nothing to adjust the seat to my preferred position even though I’ve already set the seat and the mirrors. Isn’t that what it’s meant to do?
They must lock the automobile, I think, is the restriction. It will function later when you use your key to open the vehicle.
Use of distinct keys is unquestionably necessary. Our family operates in the same manner. With just one key, you can unlock the door and move the seat.
I was considering. The door has two profile buttons and two keys. Can you store four different profiles as a result?
The same is true of the 1–7 shortcut buttons. They can be adjusted differently for each driver profile.
I believe the key profiles only permit one profile per key (but that includes settings for things like the seat positions, mirrors, short cut buttons, AC, HUD position, entertainment, interior LED lighting, etc).
However, the two door buttons can only remember seat positions and outside mirror positions. The previously specified parameters are not “recorded” by them.
However, the two door buttons can only remember seat positions and outside mirror positions. The additional settings that were previously discussed are not stored.
You can temporarily switch your current profile to another saved one if you and your passenger are both in the car and have the same key. After that, the profile on the “active” key will be replaced. When two of us are sharing the driving and we only have one key with us, I use that very frequently.
The “last seat position – automated” setting in the driver profile menu is another option. I’ve had three BMWs with that setting, and I’m still not entirely clear what it does.
My automobile has a comfort opening as well. I’ve discovered so far that the profile doesn’t seem to be accurate when I open the car using the handles rather than the car key remote. I’m not sure if I’ve just had bad luck or if that’s a real thing.
MEMORY SEAT POSITIONS SET
When the key fob is inside the car, the gearshift is in PARK, and the car is in Power/ON or ACCESSORY mode:
- If the car detects key fob 1 or not, it will be displayed in the Driver Information Center.
- To the desired locations, adjust the steering column’s tilt and telescoping, outside mirrors, and driver seat. (To find out which memory features are available, check your car’s information.)
- Release the SET button after pressing it. There will be a beep.
- Press and hold Memory button 1 or 2, depending on the fob number you saw in the DIC, as soon as you release the SET button. To verify that the seat position was set, you will hear two beeps.
The seats and other memory features will return to their pre-stored settings after being set when:
- The appropriate Memory button is depressed. OR
- The car is switched on. (The seats and other features will adjust to the key fob in use-compatible settings.) Note: You must enable Auto Memory Recall (see below).
How can I configure my seat’s exit memory?
Depending on the vehicle, click the “Vehicle” button, followed by the “Seating Position” or “Comfort and Convenience” buttons. Select “Seat Exit Memory Options” and then “On” or “Off” to turn the feature on or off.
How can I alter the settings for the seats in my BMW?
Both your safety and comfort depend on you driving in the proper position. Simply pull and hold the lever under the front of the seat, slide to the desired position, and release to move forward or backward. The seat base’s angle can be changed by pulling the lever located at the seat’s front corner. The height is adjusted using the side of the seat’s most forward lever. Use your body to add or remove pressure as necessary as you lift yourself up. A second lever, located behind the first, regulates the backrest’s angle. Hold the lever up once more as you find the ideal position, then let go. The backrest’s breadth can then be changed by pressing and holding the small toggle button in either way.
How is a BMW manually reset?
The mechanic will reset the computer in your BMW after the service is complete so it can record your mileage and let you know when the car will need maintenance again in the future. However, the techniques listed below can help you if you maintain your own car but are unclear of how to reset the computer system.
- With the engine off, turn the key to the ON position.
- For TEN seconds, press and HOLD the ODOMETER button. It can be found at the Instrument Cluster’s extreme bottom LEFT corner.
- The dash screen will display FGSTNR along with a number. Your chassis number is this (See image example).
- The LAST FOUR numerals are added. Ex: 3+4+5+6= 18 (taken from the image above). Your UNLOCK CODE is going to be 18.
- Press and hold the ODOMETER button one more until the FGSTNR clearing area appears (you will still see numbers in the top section).
- Press the odometer button until the upper Menu area (entering code menu) reaches 19 after the bottom area has cleared; When you do, the text will appear at the bottom: Press the odometer button to enter your unlock code after turning the lock on (from the example above) This is seen in the bottom portion.
- The screen will appear as in the image above after a little period, at which point the menu will once again appear at the top. To access the number 21 menu, press the odometer button (also theentering code menu).
- On the screen’s bottom, it will say: RESET? To complete the reset, press the odometer button.
Your BMW’s computer has been restarted! The existing settings must now be added again, or new ones must be added.
**NOTE: Slowly repeat the procedures if you are unable to reset the BMW computer on your first attempt. If you’re still having trouble, ask the dealership for help or refer to your car’s owner’s manual.
What is memory for seat exit?
If available, memory chairs allow you to save and recall your favorite seat position. Other items, such the steering wheel, outside mirrors, Head-Up Display (HUD), or Power Sliding Console, might also be adjustable (PSC). How to save and remember your settings is shown below.
The Seat Memory buttons allow up to two drivers to program memory settings; the settings are synced with each key fob for the car. When the car is started, the Driver Information Center (DIC) will display the driver number that the key fob belongs to.
The system will stop displaying the notice once you have started and stopped the car many times using the same key fob.
As you set preferences, be sure to keep the other key fob outside the car.
- Whether the car recognizes key fob 1 or 2, the Driver Information Center will display this information.
- The appropriate Memory button is depressed.
- The car is switched on. (The chairs and other features will adjust to the key fob that is being used.) Note: You must enable Auto Memory Recall (see below).
You can modify your memory settings to give greater room when getting out of the car.
- Your seat, steering wheel, and mirrors should all be adjusted so that you have comfortable clearance.
- Press and hold the EXIT button for a brief period of time until you hear two beeps.
- The seat exit positions will be the same for both drivers because they are connected to the car as a whole rather than a specific key fob.
When you open the driver’s door and turn off the ignition, your memory features will automatically move to the Exit position. Note: You must enable Easy Exit (see below).
How do I turn on BMW iDrive?
Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in both the automobile and the mobile device before proceeding. Choose Communication > Manage mobile devices > Connect new device* on the iDrive. The Bluetooth name for your BMW is then displayed* after you have selected the necessary features for the device. Simply locate and choose the BMW Bluetooth name from the phone’s Bluetooth menu, then adhere to the directions on the phone’s display and the vehicle’s display. You will be required to verify that the distinct code displayed in the car display matches the code on the majority of cellphones. Pressing OK causes the features to work. The phone appears in the device list after being linked with the vehicle. Only pairing a phone while the car is still is permitted for your protection.
Only applies to automobiles equipped with a professional navigation system. Use the iDrive to select “Add new device” for vehicles equipped with business navigation.
Do memory seats merit the price?
Adjustable driver and passenger seats make it easier for you to stay comfortable while driving when you have longer commutes and spend more time in your car. Even better are memory seats that remember your preferences, which are more practical when driving together or sharing the driving.
BMW idrive is it free?
All eligible BMW vehicles with the software installed are eligible for free registration with ConnectedDrive. For three years, most BMW vehicles come standard with it. BMW offers the majority of the Digital Services capabilities separately or as a trial since it understands that not all owners will want or require all of the ConnectedDrive functions.
The majority of these have different prices, ranging from PS1 for a one-month trial of real-time traffic data to PS79 for a map update for the My Journey system. BMW, on the other hand, offers four ConnectedDrive packages that range in price from PS59 to PS239 and run for a full year. As the price rises, each bundle includes more ConnectedDrive features.
Only BMWs with the most recent OS7 infotainment system and up receive Apple CarPlay for free, which may surprise some BMW owners. When their BMWs reach their third anniversary, some owners will still be required to pay up to PS265 for Apple CarPlay. In 2020, BMW vehicles finally offered Android Auto connectivity as an option, providing wireless integration to the vehicle’s infotainment system at no additional cost.
