In 2004 5 series cars, bluetooth is not available. I believe that versions from 2005 were the first to use Bluetooth. While my friend’s 2004 545i lacks bluetooth, my 2005 model does.
My 545, which I purchased in May 2004, has Bluetooth and syncs up with my RAZR quite nicely.
