Has your coder attempted to write it exactly like an F32 to ensure that the information is accurate?
If not, I suppose there might be an additional interlock or something straightforward that just has to be set. If the developer is competent, he ought to be able to solve the problem.
To enable mirror closure, I adjusted my F36 to the following settings:
Using a key fob to enable comfortable window shutting may be required to fold mirrors
Therefore, there is a 05 = 500 ms = 0.5 second delay before the mirrors will fold before you have your finger on the door handle. If you set this to 00, your mirrors will automatically fold when you lock the car without requiring you to hold anything for a little period of time. I put it to 05 for my own preferences because this can get tiresome.
The value mentioned above is valid for both key fob and comfort access shutting. If you unlock the car using the same key you used to lock it, the mirrors will automatically turn on. For instance, the car will unlock but the mirrors won’t extend if you hold your finger on the door handle while it’s closed (comfort access) (use the little button inside the door instead). However, the mirrors would quickly unfold if you folded them by placing your finger on the handle and then opened the car by grabbing the door handle.

Electric wing mirrors can be operated remotely for folding, central locking, or comfort access.
- The wing mirrors can be remotely folded in by holding the BMW emblem on the remote control for a longer period of time.
- The mirrors will quickly extend when the car is unlocked.
Although it may seem simple, electric folding mirrors must be factory installed. You do not have electronic folding mirrors if your car does not have the button highlighted in yellow below that was factory installed. You simply don’t have them; they are neither hidden nor waiting to be turned on.
Factory installed electric folding mirrors are necessary for this upgrade. Obviously, they cannot be remotely operated if they are not fitted. If they are factory installed, you can code this function into your car for PS91.67 + VAT.
How do the side mirrors on a BMW x1 automatically fold?
Either the comfort access lock on the door handle or the key fob lock button can be used for this. Your mirrors will fold in if you just keep it there for a short while.
When you hold the lock choices, you can program it to activate for a shorter time.
When employing this feature, the side mirrors will retract back to normal when you open or unlock your doors.
I recently purchased a used 2018 X1 Sport. I’ve tried briefly depressing the lock button on the key fob, but the door mirrors will not fold. Do ALL X1 models have the ability to fold, or may I only have a simpler model without this capability? In the car settings, I don’t find anything that would enable this. Can I manually fold if necessary if auto folding is not possible? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
Your mirrors should be able to be folded if you have a button by the mirror controls. It must be coded if you want it to fold automatically each time you lock the car. Invoking BimmerCode
I appreciate your response, Rounderman. Only buttons to modify each mirror are present by the X1 mirror controls. Therefore, I’m considering the possibility that my model doesn’t support that function (but that seems odd for a BMW)
Thank to everybody. Overall, I believe that since power folding mirrors are not an option on this car, no amount of Bimmercode will be able to activate them.
Do my BMW’s mirrors fold up?
You may electronically adjust the side mirrors on your BMW by pressing the button on the inside of the driver’s door. To choose which mirror you want to change, first move the toggle to the left or right. Using the matching arrows on the adjustment button, the angle of the mirror can then be adjusted up, down, left, or right. The handy auto-dip feature is activated by keeping the toggle in the right hand position. The passenger mirror will automatically tilt downward to provide a better view of the curb and any nearby objects while reverse gear is engaged. Disabling this function requires moving the switch to the left. Either the fold button on the driver’s door or the lock button on the key fob can be used to fold the wing mirrors in. The rearview mirror is simple to manually place in the ideal position.
Can a BMW’s power folding mirrors be folded manually?
Yes, however if you actively hit the button to give yourself more time to fold them in, it means you can leave them unfolded if you expect frost or ice overnight because you won’t have to force them to do so. No matter what, coding will cause them to collapse as soon as the car is locked.
Can you turn off the automatic mirror folding?
Auto Mirror Fold The external mirrors of the Model 3 automatically extend as it is unlocked. Touch Controls > Mirrors > Mirror Auto Fold to enable or disable this function.
Power mirrors can they be folded manually?

How is a mirror reset?
- Make sure the charger is not plugged in to your device.
- For 10 seconds, hold down the power button before letting go.
- Utilize rubbing alcohol and a microfiber towel to clean the mirror sensor.
- Don’t put anything in front of the mirror.
What causes side mirrors to fold?
The side view mirrors on your car can be folded back (and forward) to lessen damage. When parking on a busy street, utilizing an automatic vehicle wash, or entering a tight space, it’s a good idea to fold them back.
Rearview mirror, where are you?

A rear-view mirror, often known as a rearview mirror, is a flat mirror seen in cars and other vehicles that allows the driver to see out the back window (rear windshield).
The rear-view mirror in cars is typically mounted on a double-swivel mount at the top of the windshield. This allows it to be adjusted to fit the height and viewing angle of any driver and to swing out of the way safely in the event that it is struck by another vehicle occupant during an accident.
On trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles, the rear-view mirror is supplemented by one or more side-view mirrors, which act as the only rear-vision mirrors.
DS3 mirrors do they fold in?
Although it has excellent freeway manners, the car really shines when you enter the twistier B-roads. In the warm fall weather, traveling through the picturesque Welsh countryside was a true pleasure.
The carefully designed suspension smoothly absorbs any lumps and bumps while maintaining stability. And I was confident that the boot would accommodate all of my equipment. The stuff I required for the three-day PCotY trip was never going to be an issue because I’ve been filling the car with boxes, bags, and buggies ever since my gorgeous granddaughter recently arrived. In actuality, a few recent trips to the dump presented more of a hardship for the Citroen’s practicality.
Although the car’s rear seats can’t completely fold flat, the 60:40 split backrests can flop forward with ease and have let it swallow large amounts of yard waste.
Life with the DS3 has, for the most part, been easy. I have, however, run into a few annoyances. The automobile is hesitant to get out of bed in the morning! When you lock the car, the driver’s door mirror usually folds automatically, but occasionally it won’t, and the power steering is a little sluggish in the beginning. The main problem I’ve had, though, is weather-related.
I’m more conscious than ever that our automobile doesn’t have heated seats as winter approaches and the temperature drops. First of all, the available leather upholstery is a little cool on the elderly posterior, and the options don’t include heated seats either. So I’m hoping this winter will be warmer than it was last year.
How is a power mirror switch tested?
The circuit for the mirror motor may include three or more wires. It makes use of wires for both vertical and horizontal movement as well as a yellow common ground wire.
For the side view mirror to work, it needs power (positive) and ground (negative).
A test light can be used to check the side view mirror for power and ground. If the test light’s tip is too big to back-probe, try gluing paper clips to the ends of the wires and connecting them to the test light’s ground with electrical tape to make probes.
To test the test light, attach one paper clip to the positive battery terminal and one to the negative battery terminal.
Incorporate a paper clip into both the green and the blue wires. Check to see if the switch works by flipping it on and seeing if the light comes on. If the power is OK and getting to the switch, but the light does not turn on, the mirror control switch needs to be changed.
The mirror motor is broken if the light comes on but the mirror doesn’t move. A new side view mirror can also solve this issue if the mirror motor assembly needs to be replaced sometimes.
To test the other circuit, repeat this procedure with the ground (yellow) and green wires.
Place the probes to the earth and the power wire for that circuit when testing the mirrors for functions other than mirror movement.
How can a defective mirror switch be identified?
If you suspect a problem with your side mirror switch, keep an eye out for the following:
- You can adjust your mirrors up and down, but not left to right (or the other way around).
- Your mirrors don’t even remotely adjust.
- The driver’s switch controls your mirrors; the passenger side does not.
The basic issue is that something is wrong if you can’t just flip a switch to move your side mirrors.
My power mirrors aren’t working; why?
For the power mirror to adjust to the proper position, a set of pins, a plastic mirror glass holder, and a little motor are required. Your mirror won’t move correctly if these break.
In your car, the switch that controls the power mirrors could be broken or contaminated behind the button.
If you reside in a cold, icy area, ice may also make it difficult for your mirrors to move.
A fuse can have blown if you just installed new electronics in your automobile, like a radio or battery.
