Three men, including a champion Porsche owner, appear to have drowned.
FLORIDA’S MIAMI BEACH (WSVN) – Three individuals died this weekend after being dragged unconscious from the water in separate incidents off Miami Beach, Pompano Beach, and Boca Raton, including a well-known South Florida company owner.
Devindar Maraj, 65, the owner of Champion Porsche in Pompano Beach, was reported missing from the Boca Raton Resort and Club early on Sunday morning, according to Boca Raton Police.
The victim’s body was discovered in the river by the diving squad of the local police department.
A few hours prior, 55-year-old Anthony Waiters died while visiting his girlfriend’s family reunion in Miami Beach on Saturday afternoon. The suspected drowning occurred in the same area.
Miami-Dade resident Waiters was rescued from the water close to Collins Avenue and 82nd Street, according to Miami Beach Police. Paramedics were seen loading the victim onto an ambulance in cell phone video.
“It’s awful, as you well know. Nobody enjoys hearing about people getting harmed or drowning here, “added said. “The summer season has just started. You know, I just want to have fun.”
According to investigators, Paul Elmore, 67, lost consciousness hours earlier while diving on an artificial reef wreck off Pompano Beach.
Elmore was saved by other divers, who then started to help. CPR was performed at the scene by the Pompano Beach Fire Rescue and the Marine Patrol of the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Elmore, a resident of New York, was brought to Broward Health North where he was declared dead.
A Boca Raton Property and Club spokeswoman issued the following statement regarding Maraj’s passing: “We confirm the passing of a club member at the resort with sincere regret and sympathy. We send our deepest condolences and keep the family and friends in our thoughts during this trying time. The health of our visitors, club members, and staff members continues to be our first focus. The hotel is fully cooperating with the police inquiry.”

Tony Sciple, the general manager, completely ignores the client
A useless general manager is Tony Sciple! I’ve got a continuing administrative and service problem that hasn’t been fixed. I always get the same response when I contact the dealership: “Yes, it will be fixed this time, sorry about that, consider it done this time,” etc. However, nothing is ever resolved. I tried calling the General Manager, Tony Sciple, after so many unsuccessful attempts, but he “never” returned my call, didn’t address my issues, or follow up on my issue. Tony seems to only be there to collect your money and then leave you “high and dry” once they have it. Disgusting!! Tony’s treatment of a Champion Porsche client should make Devinder Maraj, the company’s owner, feel guilty. This, in my opinion, speaks extremely poorly of Devinder Maraj’s judgment as Champion Porsche Dealer Principal in selecting Tony to serve as his most senior manager and represent the dealership.
