How To Delete BMW Idrive Profile?

Setting 1

2. Personas

3. Choose the active profile (may have another name on it or look like —-)

4. In order to see the “options” page, move the idrive dial to the right.

5. To reset your profile, scroll down.

6. Doesn’t require much time.

7. Shut off the engine and wait 5 to 15 minutes for the idrive to totally shut off. In order for the idrive to turn off while you are waiting in the car, ensure sure your seatbelt is not fastened.

8. Restart the vehicle, return to “Profiles,” and choose a “—-“.

9. Choose “rename profile” by pushing the iDrive dial to the right once more.

10. After reconnecting, begin adding the shortcuts and any settings you desire.

Before doing this, whenever I used a different key to start the car, my shortcuts and other settings would erratically reset themselves after some time.

Every configuration now appears to save properly after resetting and creating a new profile.

I want to modify the key for our 2013 X3 35i from having two profiles to having only one so that each key only has one and not two. Otherwise, each time, you must choose between the two profiles.

The “show user list at start up” checkbox needs to be selected in your iDrive. Uncheck the box by going to settings, profile, and then option. Only one profile can be stored on each key. You are viewing every profile that is kept on your iDrive. With a certain fob, the car will immediately call up that profile when you unlock the door.

I followed your advice and proceeded to profiles, options because I couldn’t get the car to swap profiles with various keys. On my screen, there is no option to “show user list at startup.”

The amusing aspect is that the handbook features a screenshot of the screen with the bottom line “display user list at start up.”

I intend to return to the dealer shortly to get some of these technical details explained. I’ll keep you informed of my results.

The past two months or so have been spent larking. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful information.

The key fob can only store one profile at a time, as stated by X Men. The profile that the key will store is the one that is currently in use when the car is locked. Whether or not the vehicle is locked, the profile is activated, or recalled, when using the unlock button on the fob. Additionally, it can be chosen from a list in the profile menu. When iDrive starts up, the profile list does not automatically show; you must choose it from the menu. It could be possible to make it appear as soon as the car starts, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Although profiles can be removed from the menu, the current profile will be saved on the key used to lock the car as soon as you do. We have found this to be one of the 2013 28i’s most perplexing and poorly described characteristics. It would still remain a mystery if not for this site and several searches. Your sales adviser might be able to help, but this isn’t something that can be determined over the phone; it needs to be seen in person.

Our seat presets and other settings are almost the same for the time being because we put our car in a locked garage while it is unlocked, thus when I go in the car after my wife, I use her settings.

The automobile will probably identify our profiles if we simply start locking the car in the garage, and everything should be OK.

We haven’t really started to develop our profiles yet because the car is so new to us, but I want to fully understand how everything works before I begin.

We might not have this issue if we had chosen the “Comfort Access System.”

Hello – Sorry if this question has previously been asked and answered; I looked elsewhere for it without success. How can I modify my personal settings profile on iDrive? Pre-owned vehicle; the default profile is prior driver. I’ve customized another, but I have to choose it on my own every time I start the car. I’d like to place a check mark next to my name where the prior guy’s has already been placed.

Additionally, I believe I read somewhere else that it is impossible to deactivate a profile. In an ideal world, I’d just delete Kevin (the old and default profile) and leave only me as an option.

Instead of starting over, altering Kevin to me, and pursuing that route, I’d prefer not to. Sorry Kevin, but you need to leave. It would be perplexing for both of my personas if there were two of me.

You might not get a response because this is an old thread, and you might be restarting an old thread. Consider starting a new thread, please.

How are driver profiles deleted?

a 2017 X5 was purchased over the weekend. “Shana” and “Hana,” two stored driver profiles, are present. Other than the names, which the book specifies is what you should look for to alter names or modify, there is NO gear sign. How do I get rid of these profiles? It appears that the car has them hard-coded in. I filled out the driver profile that was available (had the gear symbol besides it)

When you reach the place where you can choose these PROFILES you want to delete, are you using the OPTION prompt? If the names are “grayed-out,” they have been replaced and are no longer “current.” Although no profile is still stored in memory, names may still pop up.

What happens if you configure it to display profile names at startup? Can you choose these undesirable names now? If you’re able to, why not choose “OPTION” and RENAME them (with blank spaces)?

How can I remove my account from iDrive?

To make things simple and transparent, iDrive keeps user profiles with user data. Addresses, phones that have linked, and music libraries are among the information.

Before you sell or return a leased BMW, you should erase all the data and information from the iDrive unit to make sure no other owner can access it. You can reset your iDrive device by going to the “Settings” menu, selecting “Profiles,” choosing your profile or profiles, and then selecting “Options,” which will allow you to wipe all personal data.
