As part of its exit from western Europe, Japanese luxury automaker Infiniti has announced that it will stop selling its cars in the UK as of early 2020. Nissan’s Infiniti brand, which competes with upscale names like Lexus and Mercedes, was first launched to the UK in 2008.
According to the company’s restructuring strategy, it will concentrate on the US and Chinese markets while it works toward electrifying every model in its lineup by 2021.
According to a corporate representative, the decision to withdraw was influenced by low sales in Europe and the investment needed to comply with new CO2 regulations.
The Nissan facility in Sunderland, which presently manufactures the Infiniti QX30 and Q30 in the UK, will stop doing so in July 2019.

I’m not happy at all, and this car has a lot of problems. There is a problem even after serving it over the following few days. I don’t notice the high-end quality that is advertised, and it’s a pricey automobile that is truly not worth it. I’m in the middle east, specifically in Dubai. I’ve taken it in for service three times for the same problem—the engine overheats—but the company seems unable to identify the root cause. I’m exhausted, and it’s inconvenient for me to keep making trips to the service center while I wait for them to address a problem that has never been resolved to date.
I’m not at all pleased with the decision I made. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please send them to me at [email protected].
I appreciate your input. Samira, I’m sorry to hear that your Q30 is still having problems. Unfortunately, since we are situated in the UK, we are unable to recommend the best course of action in this specific circumstance. However, if another reader has had a like experience or has suggestions on where to take your car or get a new car in Dubai, I’m sure they could be able to help you out.
My 2019 Infiniti Q60 Red Sport is mine. Among the various vehicles I’ve had are VW, Lexus, Honda, and many others. My absolute favorite is the Q60 red sport. It is fun to drive and has fantastic appearance.
My Q50 has been the most dependable car I’ve ever owned for more than 5 years. Totally adore it, and despite my love for German automobiles, I would never trade it in for one.
Unfortunately, due to their removal from the market in March 2020, these vehicles are no longer available for purchase in the UK or the rest of Europe. The automobiles themselves are no longer produced for the market in this area, but parts are still available for purchase and use in repairs.
I have a 2002 QX4 with 250700 miles that has been in the family since 2002. If you keep him maintained with regular oil changes, transmission flushes, brake and power maintenance, and rust prevention, the car will last. With that in mind, I do think older Infiniti that have been kept in line are better than newer ones. Yes, they are more expensive, but you are driving a luxury car, so the prices will be higher than usual. With that said, everyone have a good day.

Infiniti is to Nissan what Lexus is to Toyota: a high-end subsidiary of a well-known Japanese automaker. With one significant exception: British customers occasionally purchase Lexuses. Although prosperous elsewhere in the world, Infiniti has struggled to penetrate the British market and stopped offering new vehicles there in 2020. Will it come back again? More importantly, if it did, would anyone even notice?

Are INFINITI automobiles any good?
Concerning Infiniti’s dependability, there have been some conflicting opinions. Infiniti receives a four out of five rating from J.D. Power for overall dependability. It is therefore above average. Nevertheless, there are contradictory findings when we examine a few of the reports for the individual models. We are looking at a lot of American reliability reports, it should be highlighted. This is due to the fact that there aren’t very many Infiniti vehicles on UK roads. Of course, there won’t be a significant difference in the reports, but it should be acknowledged. For instance, the 2010 Infiniti FX35 received full scores for projected dependability but the 2011 Infiniti M37 only received a 2 out of 5.
There are other reports that support this. Infiniti’s Q50 was listed as one of the least dependable luxury vehicles on the market by Consumer Reports in 2014. They said that compared to the average, it was 127% less dependable. Additionally, two recalls for the Q50’s hybrid model have been announced. This was for the passenger occupant airbags and the electric power assist system. The Infiniti Q70 was ranked among the top five most dependable vehicles in 2016, nonetheless. Infiniti was ranked eighth for reliability out of 29 different automakers. The Infiniti Q70 was also cited as the most dependable vehicle in the Luxury Midsize/Large Car category.
If we examine at the Q70’s driver reviews on carbuyer, we find that most of them are favorable. While some people claim the car has faults, others give it an overall rating of five stars and claim there are no issues. According to carcomplaints, the 2014 Q50 has apparently been the subject of the most complaints, with faults with the master cylinder and early tyre wear being the main problems.
As a result, it appears that we cannot evaluate Infiniti’s reliability as a whole and that it much depends on each model. While having one automobile that is the least trustworthy and another that is the most reliable makes it difficult to gauge a brand’s reliability, it is normal for auto brands to have more reliable models than others.
