How To Activate Aux On BMW 1 Series?

I recently purchased a 2010 135i. On the test drive, the PO casually noted that his iPhone Y cable had never functioned and attributed this to it being an aftermarket model rather than an OEM. Imagine my shock when I tried to use my phone and the Aux but it didn’t work!

My signs are as follows:

– No sound. tried a variety of phones and aux cords, even switching which end was connected to which device.

-The car chime gets louder and I can hear a kind of “white noise” when I turn the volume all the way up.

I checked the real aux port to see if there was any debris there, but there wasn’t.

Since I don’t think the radio has ever been taken out or replaced, a code problem shouldn’t be the cause.

This is making me crazy. Instead of listening to bad local radio, I want to listen to podcasts!

If it doesn’t solve the problem, I would remove the aux port and use a multimeter to check for faulty connections. Additionally, I’d check the pin connector.

Yes, I have a Y cable, which identified my iPhone and my music collection, but there is no sound when I play anything.

I only have the option of 6FL. The aux port appears to be the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any advice on how to solve the problem? Thanks!!

Make sure the aux cable only has two rings and not three by inspecting it. I experienced same problem and resolved it by switching to a monster aux 2 ring cable. The 3-ring cable is still not working. I hope it works.

Even if we may disagree on Trump, I’ll be the first penis chaser to admit that I’d rather take it up in the arse than argue with you about it.

In order to stop sporadic sound cut out, I cleaned the female and male connections with isopropyl alcohol and a tissue around a year ago. Since then, no issues.

Enter the music menu first, followed by the aux menu, with the phone hooked into the aux. this gives the aux input a volume adjustment. Cut the volume. If your music is playing, check.

This dead aux jack has the same issue; everything else is functional. The non-CIC stereo has a preset for it, but when you choose it, there is silence. Additionally, whoever posted the picture of the.125″ jack with the labels “2-ring” and “3-ring” on it doesn’t help anyone. Which one is it?

I looked online, but I didn’t come up with anything. A 2009 X3 2.0d is mine. It has a phone and Bluetooth. Moreover, it has an AUX input:

  • Rear seat center console ashtray has an aux in.
  • (Taken from the user guide) Press “SC Mode” (Mode side) as many times as necessary to activate it, until the radio display shows “AUX.”
  • For volume, etc., use the music symbol.

All well, but when I push the radio’s SC Mode button, I only receive either, meaning that it alternates between:

  • station of radio
  • Nothing on the disc

Never is there an AUX display. All of the aforementioned was carried out both with the 3.5mm jack unplugged and plugged in just in case the system could detect whether a device was genuinely plugged in. Although I have my doubts, you never know.

Am I performing incorrectly. Is any programming required to make the AUX input work? Or is there anything I need to do with the radio first—it plainly doesn’t know there is an AUX port—before I can proceed?

My back center console has an aux-in, but I can’t use it.

I can only toggle between my radio and CD player when I hit the “mode” button on my radio. The “aux” option is completely absent.

When was your X3 made? 2011 is the year of mine, and “mode” does not take me to the aux input. You should be taken to the multimedia menu where you may choose the aux input when you press the “CD” or “MEDIA” button on the I-drive.

To switch from CD to Aux input, I had to access the CD/Multimedia menu on my iDrive and then go back a step by pressing “left.”

Thank you; very useful

Since the most recent software update, I’ve tried to figure it out, but thanks to you, I finally have access to my AUX.
