I believed I’d select keyless entry on the Cayman since I’ve grown accustomed to it on my current vehicle. However, in a recent conversation with a 911 owner at the nearby dealership, he described Entry and Drive as a “annoying” option. Anyone have ideas as to how it might be irksome? Although I am aware that it might be a hassle when washing the car, that is irrelevant to me for the 2022MY since the front and rear trunks are no longer connected to E&D.
I will admit that I have driven a car without keyless entry that belonged to my brother, and it can be annoying to approach the car expecting the door to unlock before having to stand there and dig the key out of your pocket. On the other hand, it could be great to have the small amount of theater of having to get the key out, enter it, and turn it on a car like this Cayman that won’t be a full-time daily driver. I’m probably thinking too much about this.
Has anyone, however, ordered E&D and then regretted it? Not having ordered it and wishing they had later? Any comments are welcome!

According to information I’ve gathered from other forums concerning Porsche’s Entry and Drive, you keep the key/fob in your pocket, and it automatically unlocks/locks the car while the fake key remains in the “ignition.”
So, to start the engine, you turn the dummy key rather than hitting a button (or, in the case of the Tesla, just selecting the gear). still enables you to enter and exit the vehicle without the need to look for keys or use buttons.
This is accurate. The fake key fob is stuck in the ignition and difficult to dislodge (never tried taking it out in my 958). Similar to other keyless entry systems, it operates.
