In spite of Joey assuring her that “Rosita” (it soon becomes clear that he gives names to all the furniture) cannot and does not move, Rachel decides to try to move the barcalounger in the living room because she is tired of having nowhere to sit. By persevering, Rachel accidently splits the chair in half.
Chandler enters the apartment while Joey and Rachel are out purchasing a new chair, tries to sit down on Rosita, and when the chair collapses, he believes he is to blame. He chooses to replace the barcalounger with one of his own in an effort to conceal this. After discovering that the broken chair miraculously repaired itself when Joey and Rachel returned, Rachel made the choice to retain the refurbished chair for herself. Joey is envious of the new chair because it is a lavish La-Z-Boy E-cliner 3000 and has many more features than the old one. After discovering the truth, Chandler stops by to retrieve his chair and discovers that Joey has damaged it. Joey’s chagrin that there was no miracle immediately gives way as he seizes the La-Z-Boy E-cliner 3000 for himself as Chandler and Rachel tell him the truth.
After learning that their parents are selling the house they grew up in, Monica and Ross go there to collect their childhood memories. Ross’ boxes, on the other hand, are in good shape, whereas Monica’s were wrecked when Jack unintentionally used her boxes to direct rainwater away from his Porsche. Ross explains to Jack that Monica believes their parents favor him over her because of incidents like this. Jack decides to try to pass off some of Ross’ possessions as her own after feeling bad about it. Ross’s baby doll and Tyrannosaurus Ross T-shirt don’t deceive her, though. She is quite unhappy, and Jack, feeling guilty, decides to give her the Porsche in order to convince her that he loves her just as much as Ross. Ross is enraged, but Monica is pleased.
Due to the beginning of a decline in her massage company, Phoebe begins working as a telephone salesperson. Her first call is to an office worker named Earl who is contemplating suicide. She pays Earl a visit at his workplace and dissuades him from committing suicide by persuading him that the world wants him to live, even if it means telling him a few lies.
As the episode comes to a close, Rachel and Joey are relaxing in the new chair. When Monica discovers that Chandler’s chaise lounge was broken and thrown out while she was hunting for it, she exclaims that it is the best day ever.

The much anticipated Friends Reunion premieres today on HBO. The Max and Porsche social media team has unpredictably chosen to commemorate the event in a humorous way. The image, which is a reference to the episode named “The One with Joey’s Porsche,” shows a Porsche cover on top of a number of boxes that loosely resemble the shape of a 911, much like in the show.
