Sadly, Carmona revealed in a separate interview with Motoring that Infiniti does not intend to release a high-performance Q60 to compete with such models from BMW M and Mercedes-AMG, though he did not completely rule out the possibility of such a model in the future.

Infiniti is all about performance, so that won’t ever be off the table, Carmona added. But regrettably, it won’t happen anytime soon.

When Infiniti unveiled the 560 horsepower Q50 Eau Rouge concept at the 2014 Detroit auto show, the company, under the direction of Johan de Nysschen, alluded to the prospect of a true BMW M and Mercedes-AMG adversary.
