Do you know how many Tsiii’s were actually produced? I know there were originally 49, but I also know they made another batch, and I can’t seem to find any information about it anywhere.

Just recently, a limited-edition TSIII model was added to the Hyundai Coupe lineup.
There are only a few of the limited-edition TSIII models that have recently been added to the Hyundai Coupe lineup that will be sold in Britain. The unique one-off will cost roughly PS19,500 and feature improved sporty appearance along with Eibach springs that work together to offer the TSIII Coupe a lower, more aggressive stance.
The TSIII adds quilted leather sports seats and matching quilted door trimmings, chrome sill guards with a TSIII emblem, and metal trimmed pedals and footrest, costing PS1,575 more than the SIII version, whose 2.0-liter, 141bhp petrol engine it shares.
The standard equipment includes an iPod-compatible audio, heated front seats, climate control air conditioning, and cruise control.
Speacial wants to give two-door new vitality.
This TSIII Coupe would be a hit if aesthetics were the only factor in automobile sales. At around PS20,000, it competes with some of Europe’s top hot hatchbacks, but it falls well short. A base-spec 1.6-liter vehicle might be alluring as a quirky option with lots of curb appeal, but in TSIII form it’s just too pricey and too far behind the competition.
Hyundai’s Coupe is a bit of a head-turner, much like the i-Mode. Some even referred to the 1996 release of the first generation car as the “Korean Ferrari”!
The company’s most popular model is now in its third iteration, and it looks better than ever – especially in the limited-edition TSIII form you see here. This adds anthracite alloy wheels, a bigger rear spoiler, and quad exhaust pipes. It is available in white or red. Quilted leather sports seats inside add a sense of sophistication.
However, the changes are only superficial. The 2.0-liter unit with 141 horsepower from the lineup of base engines is the only option, and it is ponderous, harsh, and at odds with the coupe’s athletic claims. At higher revs, the four-cylinder engine makes a strident, unappealing noise that fills the cabin.
This stylistic and performance conflict reveals all there is to know about the Hyundai two-door. For instance, the seats look wonderful, but they are too high, and the driving position is uncomfortable with no steering wheel reach adjustment and a clear lack of headroom for anyone over six feet tall.
Similar to the steering, which has a wonderful, strong turn-in at first, it first flatters to deceive. It quickly becomes clear, though, that the weight has been artificially increased to make up for the lack of feel. Another complaint is the complicated stereo. Despite being neatly assembled and securely bolted together, the entire cottage feels ten years old.
On the bright side, the TSIII generally rides nicely, though it doesn’t handle potholes elegantly, and the five-speed box leaps confidently through the gears. The blue instrument backlighting, a la Volkswagen, is also lovely.
The Coupe, however, competes with the Honda Civic Type R and VW Golf GTI, hot hatchbacks with the bite to match their bark, for PS19,705.
UK receives a Hyundai Coupe TSIII and feels special
Hyundai UK has revealed that it will sell a special edition Hyundai Coupe that has only minor modifications.
Tiburon” in American English (or, more accurately, Spanish). The name The Coupe TSIII has the cadence of a doo-wop ensemble.
A “sportier engine note” is described, and it also receives new paint, new exhaust tips (perhaps coupled to new mufflers), Eibach springs, anthracite-finish alloys, quilted leather trimmings, a new spoiler, and extremely unique badging. However, a 2.0L four with 141 horsepower provides the power. Hey, it’s something.

The legendary Hyundai Coupe has always turned heads. Now, a limited-edition model known as the TSIII has joined it in the showroom this month. With more style improvements and unique color possibilities, this should really strain onlookers’ neck muscles.
Stone Black, Rose Red, Crystal White, or Carbon Grey are the four possible paint color options. Crystal White and Rose Red have never before been offered on the Coupe and are only offered on the TSIII in extremely small quantities.
The 17″ alloy wheels feature a unique anthracite finish to contrast and accentuate these colors.
A bigger boot spoiler with an integrated brake light and quad exhaust pipes at the back offer the TSIII a sharper sound and more purposeful appearance.
Quilted leather sports seats in the cabin of the TSIII provide extra support and comfort to improve the driving experience. The effect is completed by coordinating quilted door trimmings. Other interior features like the metal-trimmed pedals and footrest, chrome sill guards with a TSIII emblem, and chrome sill guards add to the cabin’s athletic vibe. The TSIII includes standard features like climate-controlled air conditioning, heated front seats, cruise control, an iPod-compatible audio, and metal-look finishes on the steering wheel, center console, and air vents.
Not just the appearance has been improved. Eibach sport springs are included with the TSIII to improve road holding and offer the Coupe a lower, more aggressive stance.
The limited edition’s engine and transmission are the same as the standard model, maintaining the car’s affordability and insurability while yet providing a high level of performance. A 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC petrol engine with 141 horsepower powers the TSIII. It has a top speed of 129 mph and can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 9.3 seconds.
With a price difference of just PS1,575 over the current Coupe SIII 2.0, the Coupe TSIII offers exceptional value for the money. The TSIII is now on display in showrooms for a brief time, and quantities are carefully capped. The Coupe includes the renowned Hyundai unlimited mileage, five year warranty package, much like all other Hyundai vehicles.
What vehicle took over for the Hyundai Tiburon?
Hyundai won’t provide a sports coupe for the 2009 model year, but the Genesis coupe and a Tiburon replacement will be available in front- and rear-drive configurations in 2010.
The 2008 model year marks the conclusion of production for the current Tiburon. The Veloster fixed-roof two-plus-two concept car that made its debut at the 2007 Seoul auto show will serve as its replacement.
Krafcik will not speak in detail about the platform supporting the Veloster other than to state that it will not be supported by the present Tiburon architecture. He asserts that he is unable to speak with sister business Kia about potential shared platforms since executives from both Hyundai and Kia have signed agreements in North America that forbid the sharing of information and mandate that all decisions be made in Korea. All in all, Krafcik remained silent regarding Kia’s own front-drive coupe, known as the Kia Koup and evolved from the Kia Spectra, which was introduced earlier this year at the 2008 New York auto show.
The new Hyundai two-moniker door’s is still being chosen. According to Krafcik, the term Veloster, a combination of “velocity” and “roadster,” will not be used in production. The most contentious issue is whether to give the compact coupe a new name or stick with Tiburon. Internal surveys reveal little familiarity with the name Tiburon. However, the word-of-mouth from the 150,000 purchasers who have owned one throughout the years and their favorable experiences has remained consistent. If we do keep the name, Krafcik claims, “it’s not a bad name.” We have time to investigate and see whether the Tiburon name has any value.

He wouldn’t mind this specific Hyundai, I suppose. This Hyundai Tiburon features two 2.0 liter turbocharged engines, both of which are marketed in our country as the Hyundai Coupe. With a combined output of more than 600 horses and what is officially an all-wheel drive system, you have one at the front making 309 horsepower and one at the back making 317 horsepower. The car has two independently controlled automatic transmissions that allow it to simultaneously shift between drive and reverse. Twin turbocharged engines sound interesting, but I personally don’t think it’s a good idea to use them because of the added expense and weight. When a single 4.0L turbocharged engine is tuned appropriately, it may produce power comparable to two engines while yet being lighter overall thanks to the addition of a 4WD system. Of course, having two engines is something to be proud of.
Some could counter that even a 2.0L engine might be modified to generate more than 600 horsepower. True, but doing so is quite expensive, and typically the torque is poor compared to a larger cc engine. It could be better if I said a 3.0L engine with 600 horsepower. Anyway, based on the modifications made to the Hyundai Coupe, it is a fantastic engineering accomplishment.
It will require some tiresome auto engineering labor to install this arrangement. I’m quite curious about how they manage the gasoline tank, both engines, etc. simultaneously.
The idea is appealing to me. However, I’d like to know how they managed to control the speed of each axle as well as the two gear levers, clutches, and accelerators.
Hyundai stopped producing the Genesis Coupe when?
According to a Hyundai representative, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be retired after the 2016 model year. There is no information on a sporty two-door Hyundai replacement, but the expensive Genesis brand will receive a coupe with a stronger focus on luxury.
The Infiniti G37 coupe, to which the pre-refresh car bore a significant similarity, was quickly likened to the Genesis Coupe upon its arrival for the 2010 model year. Both a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and a 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 306 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque were available when the rear-drive vehicle first went on sale. The Genesis Coupe received a redesign for the 2013 model year, giving it a distinctive yet divisive look. The 2.0-liter turbo’s output was also significantly increased, rising to 274 horsepower and 275 lb-ft. But in 2014, it wasn’t enough to keep the four-pot option from being eliminated. The direct-injected 3.8-liter V-6 engine in the 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe produces 348 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is an option.
The Genesis Coupe faced off against V-6-powered pony cars like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, as well as the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins and the more upscale Infiniti Q60 (formerly G37 coupe), the car Hyundai had originally targeted, in a diverse and dwindling class of rear-drive sport coupes. Few people, including Ford and Chevy, are becoming wealthy from these specialized sport coupes. Therefore, it was not Hyundai’s fault that the low-margin Genesis Coupe was discontinued. After all that moving around, it could be confusing to have a non-premium model with the same name as your luxury brand.
The Genesis brand will soon receive a two-door model of its own, but the Hyundai brand will have to do without a sporty rear-drive option. Christine Henley, a spokesman for Hyundai, wrote to us in an email to say, “A new, more opulent coupe suited for the new Genesis brand is now in development.” It will likely resemble the Vision G coupe concept from the previous year, in our opinion.
