Does Vcds Work On BMW?

I apologize if this has already been addressed, but after searching through this site and all of its subforums, I am more perplexed than normal. I too have a ross-tech KII-USB cable and a 2003 E39 530i. Will this cable link my laptop to my automobile, and if not, what other cable do I require? I definitely don’t want to try that and break any of the three. I enjoy using my Vag-com to work on my VW and Audi, and I’m looking forward to using all the software applications suggested on this forum to explore my BMW. The engine control module “DME” and some auto transmission “EGS” basic OBD2 codes can be read by VCDS software, however it is insufficient for in-depth analysis.

How Can a VCDS or VAG-COM KKL Cable Be Modified for a BMW INPA?

Is it feasible to utilize a “newer” bmw (2004-2011) with the software inpa and a “old” vcds or vagcom kkl cable? Is it possible to only utilize my vcds cable’s Pins 7 and 8 for the BMW?
