The most important improvements over the original RS are hidden beneath the surface. It will use a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 493 horsepower and 331 lb-ft (448 Nm) of torque, just like the Cayman GT4 RS. A seven-speed PDK transmission will be paired with this engine and drive the rear wheels. The forthcoming Spyder should be able to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in around 3.2 seconds and maintain that pace all the way to its top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).
The Boxster Spyder RS might be competitive with the Cayman GT4 RS in a straight line, but without the hardtop sibling’s massive back wing, it won’t be quite as speedy. However, the engineer driving this prototype was more than willing to push it to its limits, accelerating quickly around some of Green Hell’s most infamous turns.
The car will receive a number of aesthetic and aerodynamic improvements. For instance, the front end will be changed to include aerodynamic fins on either side of the bumper and a more noticeable front splitter. Additionally, a brand-new hood has been created, with two conspicuous NACA ducts.
