Hello. My car is a BMW 330xi. I have a problem with my emission monitors and am about to have my car smog examined. With the exception of the secondary air injection monitor, all of my monitors are ready.
With the exception of the secondary air monitor, I have reset the monitors a few times and can get them all ready in less than 30 miles of driving. No fault codes, either active or pending, or the check engine light. not sure what to do right now. Can it still pass the California smog test?

Before your BMW may pass the smog test, all of the pollution monitors must be “ready” or “complete.” Gasoline-powered BMWs from 1999 and earlier are permitted with one unprepared monitor. All monitors, save the EVAP, must be ready in BMWs manufactured in 2000 or after. It appears that your car fits this description. You’ll see in the image below that the secondary AIR monitor operates best when the BMW has been left to sit over night and when the engine is cold. We advise making sure the monitor’s specifications are followed, including the need for a cool engine. The AIR monitor won’t finish if the AIR injection pump isn’t working when the engine first starts in the morning while it’s cold outside.
