In April 2007, it started making engines for Mazda vehicles. After receiving a new name, the facility will continue to produce 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engines for Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd., a company based in Nanjing that builds the Mazda CX-8, Mazda CX-5, and Mazda3 (known as the Axela in Japan) for the Chinese market.

Mazda wants to build its company in China and support the expansion of the car sector through joint venture projects with partner Changan. Up to 1,400 Jobs Available as Hiring Plan Continues for Discovery Production Line

Birmingham, Alabama Today, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) celebrates the introduction of the highly anticipated Mazda CX-50, the second car in its production portfolio that will be built on MTM’s Discovery Production Line. Through 2022, the Mazda CX-50 and Toyota Corolla Cross, which are put together on the Apollo Production Line, will continue to be built by the joint venture between Mazda Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation.

“The wait is over for us,” declared Mark Brazeal, vice president of administration, of Mazda’s global unveiling of the CX-50.

Being a part of the MTM team and working on the construction of two brand-new SUVs here in North Alabama is thrilling right now.

MTM will add up to 1,400 more team members to its current staff, bringing the total number of employees to up to 4,000 once production is fully operational. Between the two nameplates, the plant is able to produce 300,000 vehicles annually.

Does Mazda outperform Toyota?

It’s interesting to note that the fuel cell electric Clarity and hybrid Insight, which share a similar powertrain with our Honda City RS e:HEV, also performed above average.

Kia, a Hyundai subsidiary, is rated fifteenth. Lincoln (26th, last) and Tesla are the brands with the worst reputations.

Premium European brand owners continue to report ownership experiences that are below average. The highest ranked European brand is Porsche, which sits in ninth place.

Mercedes-Benz placed 20th, Audi 14th, BMW 12th, and Volvo 18th. Owners of luxury brand vehicles frequently complain about infotainment screen freezing and other issues with in-car technology.

Is the Mazda Yaris a Toyota?

Since 1999, Toyota has sold the Toyota Yaris, a supermini/subcompact automobile that took the place of the Starlet and Tercel.
