Another victim of Americans’ obsession with crossovers, SUVs, and other vehicles with more apparent utility. The InfinitiQ70 luxury car has reached the end of its lifespan, according to a report from Motor Authority published on Friday.
Infiniti released a statement confirming the Q70’s discontinuation in the US (and Canada, for that matter). The all-new QX50 mid-size crossover joined the QX60 three-row, seven-passenger crossover and our QX80 full-size luxury SUV last model year, according to a company spokesman. “As consumer demand shifts, we continue to focus on our sport utilities and crossovers.”
However, he continued, “We are totally dedicated to the automotive business, with the Q50 sports sedan continuing to be one of the most well-liked Infiniti models, as well as the Q60 sports coupe.
The Q50 is the only sedan remaining in the lineup now that the Q70 is on its way out. Meanwhile, the brand’s coupe model is the Q60.
