Hello, today I will demonstrate how to configure your memory seats. The buttons on my Acadia Denali are situated here. We must first configure our mirrors, seats, and, if available, the motorized steering wheel and pedals. After everything is ready, you will examine your buttons. Can a memory seat be set?
Novice difficulty, 5 minutes to complete, no tools needed, and related parts, services, or technology include: Using the seat memory buttons, up to two drivers can program memory settings. All of the key fobs for the car are compatible with the settings. When the car is started, the Driver Information Center (DIC) will display the driver number that the key fob belongs to. The system will stop displaying the notice once you have started and stopped the car many times using the same key fob.
As you set preferences, be sure to keep the other key fob outside the car.
If available, memory chairs allow you to save and recall your favorite seat position. Other items, such exterior mirrors or the steering column, might also be adjustable. How to save and remember your settings is shown below.
TO SET MEMORY SEAT POSITIONS
With the ignition ON or in ACCESSORY mode, the key fob in the car, and the car in PARK:
- Whether the car recognizes key fob 1 or 2, the Driver Information Center will display this information.
- To the desired locations, adjust the steering column’s tilt and telescoping, outside mirrors, and driver seat. (To find out which memory features are available, check your car’s information.)
- Release the SET button after pressing it. There will be a beep.
- Press and hold memory buttons 1 or 2 depending on the fob number you saw in the DIC as soon as the SET button has been released. To verify that the seat position was set, you will hear two beeps.
The seats and other memory features will return to their pre-stored settings after being set when:
The appropriate memory button is depressed.
2. The key is in the ignition. (The seats and other features will adjust to the key fob in use-compatible settings.) Note: You must enable Auto Memory Recall (see below).
TO SET AN EXIT POSITION
You can modify your memory settings to give greater room when getting out of the car.
- Your seat, steering wheel, and mirrors should all be adjusted so that you have comfortable clearance.
- Press and hold the EXIT button for a brief period of time until you hear two beeps.
- The seat exit positions will be the same for both drivers because they are connected to the car as a whole rather than a specific key fob.
When you open the driver’s door and turn off the ignition, your memory features will automatically move to the Exit position. Note: You must enable Easy Exit (see below).
How are the memory seats in a 2014 GMC Sierra adjusted?
DETERMINING THE DRIVER NUMBER Two sets of keys or remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitters are included with your GMC, enabling two different drivers to program, save, and recall seat settings upon starting the car, if they so want.
It’s crucial to know which number key or RKE you use as your main key when configuring memory seat features.
In order to locate the driver number:
- Use a different key or RKE transmitter to start the car. The driver number, either 1 or 2, should appear on the DIC. Remove the key or RKE transmitter from the car and turn the ignition off.
- Use the original key or RKE transmitter to start the car. The other driver’s number, which was not presented in Step 1, should appear on the DIC.
SETTING UP YOUR SEAT A row of buttons labeled “SET,” “1, “2,” and an exit icon are located on the driver’s door panel and are specifically used to save memory positions. You can store and recall seat positions using these buttons.
- Adjust all memory positions that can be stored, including the seat, the mirrors, and the Yukon power steering column, if one is provided.
- If the car isn’t running or on already, turn the ignition to the “ON” position.
- A beep should be heard if you press and hold the “SET” button.
- As soon as two beeps are heard, press and hold the numbered button that corresponds to your key/RKE fob (see above).
- The programming is now over. Turn the button off.
A seat position that makes exiting the car easier can be adjusted with the exit button. Set the driver’s seat in the optimal exit position, then follow the same steps to press the exit button.
RECALL YOUR SEAT MANUALLY Simply press and hold the “1” or “2” button while seated in the car until the previously saved positions for the seats, mirrors, and/or steering column are remembered.
ALGORITHM RECALL Additionally, your memory chairs have automatic seat recall capabilities that can make loading previously preset seat configurations even simpler.
Your GMC comes with two sets of keys as well as remote key fobs, as was previously mentioned. A message in the Driver Information Center within the gauge cluster lets you know which key is currently being used when you start your car with one of the supplied keys.
When Seat Entry Memory is selected in the vehicle customisation options, the positions of buttons 1 and 2 that have been previously saved to memory are recalled when the ignition is turned from off to on or accessory, depending on the key or key fob that was used to unlock and start the car.
If a Seat Exit Memory is activated, it can be accessed under the car customisation choices in the settings menu of the vehicle.
When the car is off and the driver’s door is open, the seat setting saved for the “Exit” button will automatically be recalled.
To activate Seat Entry Memory:
- On the GMC Infotainment screen, select the Settings menu.
- Choose the “Depending on the vehicle, choose the “Seating Position” or “Comfort and Convenience” button after pressing the “Vehicle” button.
- Select “Seat Entry Memory” there and then “On or “Off to make the feature active or inactive.
To activate Seat Exit Memory:
- From there, choose “Seat Exit Memory Options and choose “On or “Off to turn the feature on or off.
Auto memory recall: What is it?
When a key fob is detected, Automatic Memory Recall will move the memory-equipped features to the positions previously saved to the 1 or 2 memory buttons. For instance, only positions stored to memory button 1 will be recalled by one fob, and only positions stored to memory button 2 will be recalled by the other fob.
