Hi everybody,
I just bought a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, and I’m a first-time poster here.
Naturally, this leads to me looking into Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 tires for the first time as I shop for winter tires. They are said to be among the greatest, if not the best.
Has anyone in this room used these on a Mirage before? Given that 175/65R14 tires are 10mm wider than factory tires, will they fit properly?
Furthermore, the typical rim is 4.5 inches wide; should this provide an issue or would a little broader rim be advantageous?
Any information on 185/60R14, which I’ve read might be a closer match to the OEM factory Dunlops, would also be helpful.
I’m grateful.

On what size of a Mitsubishi Mirage can I place tires?
On 14-inch wheels, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 ES travels. The base trim should be driven on 165/65R14 tires for the sharpest handling and optimum performance. The remaining model levels use tires measuring 175/55R15 on 15-inch wheels.
What distinguishes 185/65 r14 from 175/65 r14?
Nevertheless, they can be light truck tires, which are occasionally utilized for trailer applications. In other words, it is slightly over half an inch taller.
What does the phrase “TYRE 175/65 r14” mean?
The cross sectional width of the tire is 175 millimeters. The aspect ratio, or 65, is the proportion of cross section width to sidewall height. The diameter of the wheel that the tyre is made to suit is 14. 14 inches. Radial architecture. Radial-ply structure is known as R.
How is a tire size read?
The aspect ratio is the two-digit figure that follows the slash in a tire size. For instance, the 65 indicates that the height is equivalent to 65 percent of the tire’s width in a tire of size P215/65 R15. The sidewall of the tire will be larger the larger the aspect ratio.
Will 175 tires fit on 185 rims?
The same size wheels (4-1/2 to 5-1/2 inch broad) and diameter (between 24 and 24-1/2 inches) will accommodate both a 175/80-13 and 185/80-13 tire.
Finding Tire Size
Nowadays, almost all tires have their size information printed on them. Check your owner’s manual or look for a large set of letters and numbers imprinted onto the sidewall of your tire. The characters on tires can occasionally be huge and painted white for better visibility. Other times, they are smaller and located close to the rim, on the inside edge of the tire. In any case, search for a string of characters that looks somewhat like this: P185/60R14 82H. Although the details may change, the pattern almost always remains the same.
What Do All Those Numbers and Letters Mean?
Let’s take the P185/60R14 82H tire specification as an example:
- The P stands for “passenger,” indicating that the tire is designed for use with passenger cars. Additionally, it could state T for temporary spare or LT for light truck.
- The width of the tire, measured from one sidewall to the other, is indicated by the number 185.
- The forward slash character is followed by the number 60, which indicates that the tire’s height from rim to tread is 60 percent of its width, or again, 185 millimeters.
- R14 denotes that the tire is designed to suit wheels with a 14-inch diameter.
- The R indicates that the tire is of radial construction, which describes the orientation of the tire’s internal structural strands. Radial tires are currently the industry standard for passenger cars.
- The tire’s maximum load and speed rating is 82H. Maximum weight capacity for a tire with a load index of 82 is 1047 lbs. A tire with a H speed rating can withstand driving at 130 mph before the rubber begins to deteriorate.
