- In order to see the two screws on the side of the taillight assembly, you must first open the trunk.
- Pull the taillight assembly off of the car by removing these two screws from the inside. It might be required to use a little pressure. Retaining pins that snap out keep the tail light in place.
- By pushing the plastic tab and pulling the connector out, you can unplug the turn signal bulb connector.
- The plastic connector connecting to the tail light must be turned counterclockwise and taken out of the tail light housing in order to disconnect the electrical connector from the LED brake bulb. This will make the LED bulb’s male connector visible.
- Pull the connector out of the LED bulb by depressing the little plastic tab on the rear of the connector. Set aside the tail light assembly.
- The wiring for the taillight must now be taken out. Pry the rubber grommet that is within the car’s body out of its socket and remove the wiring.
- A plug is connected to the wiring behind the rubber grommet. Pulling apart the connectors after pressing the tab.
- Take the new tail light and attach the wire for it to the wiring of the car. Make sure it clicks into place and is plugged in firmly.
- The rubber grommet should be inserted into the body hole after pushing the wiring back through the vehicle. Ensure that this grommet is seated correctly in its groove and is flush all the way around.
- The hardware on the body must line up with pins and a socket on the back of the taillight. Push the tail light into position, making that the pins are in the holes and the socket is over the holding clip.
- With the help of the screwdriver, insert the two screws and tighten them. Check to see if the brake light is now operational. If required, repeat on the opposite side; you’re done!
