Why was the L200 discontinued in the UK?
Following a decision by Mitsubishi Japan to discontinue creating vehicles that meet rules in this region of the world, Mitsubishi is leaving the UK. Do you still need to purchase a new L200? Let’s investigate.
However, you will still be able to purchase a new Mitsubishi up until about autumn 2021, when stocks of the present range are anticipated to run out. The end of UK Mitsubishi sales was announced in July 2020.
This means that the Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Commercial and Mitsubishi Shogun Sport Commercial, both of which are commercial 44 conversions of passenger SUV models, will no longer be produced as light commercial vehicles starting in 2021.
Has the Mitsubishi Pajero ISOFix?
There are a few alternatives for installing kid seats in the Mitsubishi Pajero. Two ISOfix points on the second-row seats are concealed behind slits in the seat fabric rather than being contained within plastic guides.
Strangely, the ISOfix attachments are spanning the central seat and the outer seats rather than being in the outer seats. Consequently, if you employ both sets of ISOFix, you
Three car seats in a Mitsubishi Tritonis that possible?
The Triton was up next. a useful double-cab ute with two ISOFIX anchor points in the third row of seats (available in GLX, GLS, and Exceed models). Perfect for a Britax complete seat and a rear-facing infant capsule. Remember that there are only two points on this vehicle. Since there isn’t a third, the back cannot accommodate three child seats. The two points will be appropriate for the people who purchase this pick-up despite the fact that it is often a work ute.
L200: What does that mean?
L200 or L-200 could mean:
- A little pickup vehicle called the Mitsubishi Triton (L200)
- General Motors’ Saturn L-Series L200 is a car.
- Third-generation Daihatsu Mira vehicle

- a type of catfish called Baryancistrus demantoides
- One variety of catfish is Hemiancistrus subviridis.
- Wheel loader Bumar Fadroma L200 polish
- L200 (foam), an EVA foam variety used for floor mats, special effects makeup, etc.
Mitsubishi discontinuing the L200?
Mitsubishi has announced its exit from the UK and Europe and that it would not be introducing any new models there. Stocks of current models, like as the well-liked Outlander PHEV and L200 pickup, will continue to be sold up until the point at which they are no longer compliant with pollution standards.
If my automobile has ISOFIX fittings, how do I know?
The differences between automotive seats, seat belts, and seat belt anchorages are enormous. Varied car seats have variable forms, different seat belt lengths, and different anchor locations with different stalk lengths. Due to all of this, it can be challenging to properly install a kid car seat, and polls routinely show that a substantial percentage of child car seats are installed improperly.
In essence, fitting points are incorporated into both automobiles and child car seats at the time of manufacture. It is not necessary to use the seat belts in the vehicle to fasten an Isofix child seat because it can be “wired” into the relevant fitting points in the vehicle. In order to stop the kid seat from tilting or spinning during an impact, an additional top tether or support leg is needed.
You can check your vehicle’s manual, get in touch with the manufacturer or dealer, or look for Isofix labels between the base and back of your car seats (the fitting points themselves may also be visible).
Check with the child seat manufacturer or retailer to see if your Isofix child seat is approved for your car; many offer a list of which seats are approved for which automobiles on their websites. You might also be able to find out which Isofix child seats fit your vehicle from the manufacturer.
If at all feasible, bring your automobile to the merchant when purchasing a new Isofix child seat and request to test the seat in the vehicle before making your purchase.
What are your options if your automobile lacks ISOFIX?
Even though Isofix was only introduced to Australia in 2014, many new automobiles already feature Isofix attachments, albeit not all of them will. The best course of action is to consult your car’s manual to determine if it is Isofix compatible. Be sure to check the specific car you are buying in advance if you plan to employ Isofix installation when you purchase a new vehicle before the birth of your child. You can still install your car seat using the seat belt installation method if your vehicle is not Isofix compliant. Any car can have its car seats installed using the seat belt technique. You will need a car that is Isofix compliant as well as a car seat with Isogo attachments in order to use the Isofix procedure.
When did cars first get ISOFIX?
The technology was originally made available in 1997* and was created by the car seat manufacturer Britax-Romer and the automaker VW. The majority of European vehicles made after 2001 have ISOFIX. Around 2007, the system was adopted by the rest of the world (US cars call it Latch).
The Mitsubishi Triton is ISOFix compatible.
The Triton’s two outside rear seats include ISOFix points and top tether anchorages. The Triton has a single pull tab on the seat back that can be used to move the entire seat back forward as opposed to many other utes that have tabs at either end of the seat back, requiring you to pull both tabs simultaneously. This makes attaching the top tether to the anchorages easier in the Triton than in the majority of other utes. The second is the pair of zips behind the fold-down armrest that you can use to access the top tether anchorages with your hand.
Since I am just 162 cm tall, it was a tight fit for me to sit between a forward-facing and rear-facing child seat in the Triton’s center seat. The front seats may be folded quite far forward, allowing for easy access to the central rear seat. The Triton has good legroom, allowing us to place an 182 cm passenger in front of a rear-facing child seat.
Although it doesn’t provide you the flexibility of placing one child set in the middle seat and an adult passenger on either side, I like the honesty in only fitting two child seats and not pretending to have place for a third child seat when it actually doesn’t.
Unlike the Nissan Navara’s tray, which can store 24 bags, and the Toyota Hilux’s tray, which can hold 29, the Triton’s tray can hold 30 bags. Standing on the ground, it was relatively simple to reach over the sides of the first two rows of merchandise and to slide strollers in and out.
The keyless entry and exit on the GLS Premium variant is another one of my favorite features; I ADORE IT!! Without having to fiddle around with keys while attempting to tote a toddler and all the accessories that go with them, I could just press the button on the car door to lock and unlock it, and I could leave the key in my handbag the entire week without touching it!
In the GLX base model, there is a plain plastic floor underneath the floor mats that is simple to clean or mop. Children’s spills are more difficult to remove from the carpeted floor of the GLS Premium!
The speedometer is not digital. With cruise control and speed cameras, I don’t find the old-school dial to be precise enough.
Similar to all utes, the back window is flat, allowing sunlight to directly enter rear-facing passengers, which may be an issue if this vehicle serves as your primary family vehicle.
Although the shiny black plastic from Mitsubishi that I dislike is still present within the cab, it shrinks and envelops you more like a car’s interior than a ute’s.
The Mitsubishi Triton has seven airbags as standard equipment and received a five-star ANCAP safety rating in 2015.
