For example, the IS 250 F Sport has an Intake Sound Creator to produce a sportier engine note. Similar to the LFA, the Intake Sound Creator amplifies the natural vibration of the intake pulse using a specific damper (see diagram of intake tubing below), then directs the amplified vibration into the cabin as an appealingly athletic intake roar.
The IS 300h improves the driving experience entirely through a new method. Active Sound Control (ASC), a new technology that is a first for Lexus, adds audio to the engine sound through a dedicated loudspeaker concealed below the dashboard. The exhilarating sound of acceleration and deceleration is delivered by the volume-adjustable ASC even when the hybrid system’s engine is turned off and the vehicle is just using its electric motor for propulsion (see below). However, when Eco or EV mode is chosen, the audio feed is immediately turned off.

SONY | Headphones Connect mobile app & Adaptive Sound Control (ASC)
You are asked to enable the ASC setting when first installing SONY | Headphones Connect. Adaptive Sound Control is the abbreviation. Depending on one of four motion optionssitting, walking, running, or transportationAdaptive Sound Control automatically modifies the headphones’ sound settings.
