The fact that the producers of Men in Black: International interfered with the script so much while it was being made made it difficult for director F. Gary Gray to stand behind the film, but the main reason the audience didn’t like it was that it wasn’t a Men in Black movie with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in it didn’t help.

The original agents played by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, last seen in 2012’s Men in Black 3, do not make any unexpected cameo appearances in the movie, but they do receive a subtle nod.
