Q5 is wider than Q3 by how much?

The Audi Q3 is the winner in the style category, despite costing almost $10,000 more than its smaller Q5 brother.

The Q3’s style is more exciting than the Q5 in every way. It looks flashy thanks to the cutting-edge headlamps, hexagonal grille, and curved body. It is simple to see why the Q3 is the more attractive of the two when compared to the Audi Q5, which has more minute stylistic elements.

Having said that, the commanding presence that the Audi Q5 gives with its added heft has a lot to recommend it. The Q5 comes with numerous great stylistic characteristics that let you know it’s a luxury automobile, despite being 198mm longer, 37mm wider, and 46mm taller than the Q3 For instance, the Q5’s Sport model comes standard with a rear spoiler, roof bars, and a silver rear diffuser strip.

To receive a little bit more value than with the base Technik trim, we advise upgrading to the Q3 Sport model. A few other noteworthy additions are body-colored bumpers rather than the typical black plastic ones, grille bars made of aluminum silver, and a silver chrome grill surround. Additionally, you’ll receive larger 18-inch alloy wheels that offer the vehicle a more muscular appearance and feel.

Because the Audi Q5 starts with the Sport trim, it’s preferable to check out the S Line model for superior style. which is the following level. The Q5 S Line has sleeker matrix LED headlights, a sportier honeycomb grille, and privacy glass for the rear windows above the normal model. This specification also comes with more aggressive S Line bumpers, side skirts, and unique S Line badges.

The Audi Q5 is how many FT?

24.7 cubic feet of cargo capacity can be found behind the back seats of the Q5 Sportback, and 51.9 cubic feet can be found with the seats folded down. The regular liftgate is powered.

How big is an Audi Q5’s back end?

Given that it has been Audi’s best-selling vehicle for two generations and is one of the smallest compact luxury crossovers inside, it appears that many purchasers are ready to ignore this fact. However, you should be conscious of the Q5’s constrained cargo capacity, particularly if you intend to use it as a family transporter.

The Q5’s elevated back seat offers 25.85 cubic feet of space behind it. That appears to be fine, but in this case, the vehicle’s dimensions lead to less usable room than the volume suggests. For instance, despite the Subaru Crosstrek appearing to have 5 more cubic feet of space, the Q5 can take less luggage than that vehicle.

However, there is more to the tale, particularly in relation to the Q5’s sliding back seat. So let’s investigate a little more.

With the back seat moved all the way back and the seatback in an upright yet comfortable position, this is the cargo compartment. Audi claims that even though this particular model is a plug-in hybrid, it has the same amount of cargo space as a conventional hybrid.

As with every baggage test, I use two midsize roller suitcases (26 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 11 inches deep), two roll-aboard suitcases (24 L x 15 W x 10 D), and one smaller roll-aboard that fits comfortably (23L x 15W x 10D). I add my wife’s expensive overnight bag as well to dress things up a little (21L x 12W x 12D).

The Q5’s cargo area isn’t that deep, and the liftgate area is much more sloped than it appears, is what I’m referring to in terms of measurements. As a result, you are left with an unusable triangular prism-shaped space behind your bags.

Now, I typically perform both versions of this test, with and without a cargo cover. The cargo cover was sadly not included in this press vehicle by Audi. It is, however, very clear that it wouldn’t function properly with the cover in place.

I probably would have been left with a meager haul like this because the tallest bags would not have been able to fit on their sides under the cover.

I can’t say for sure, but that’s quite pitiful, once more. It may possibly fit the same number of bags under its cover as the smaller Audi Q3 at best.

I had to stand the two medium bags up in order to fit the larger bags, which limited my eyesight. More importantly, I rarely have to in compact crossovers. The luxury bag would have likely fit as it did in the GLC, but it would have been uncomfortable and would have obstructed view considerably more.

Therefore, this is the least impressive performance so far by a small premium crossover that isn’t the Land Rover Evoque. More practical even than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

The Q5 does, however, have the aforementioned secret weapon up its sleeve: the movable rear seat.

The plug-in hybrid’s enormous charge cord bag may go there with the seats fully forward, allowing for both additional space and the fitting of everything else. More about that will be said later.

At this time, the Q5’s cargo space is one of the largest in the segment, surpassed only by the Acura RDX.

Legroom, farewell! Although you might be able to transport five individuals, you won’t be able to bring them with you. Unless everyone is quite petite. or children in child seats that face forward.

What does this mean for the Q5? In the end, this adaptability is fantastic. Although not everyone requires the largest truck available, having the ability to increase capacity when necessary is undoubtedly useful. To get some additional cargo capacity while maintaining space for passengers in the back, you may alternatively slide only a portion of the 40/20/40 split seat forward.

The reality remains, nevertheless, that there isn’t much room compared to most rivals. That, in my opinion, makes the Q5 a better option for individuals or couples without children. Owning a similarly sized Audi Allroad wagon, I am aware that we quickly run out of space and require a roof carrier for longer trips with our infant boy (especially if the dogs come along). The Q5 would experience the same thing.

Oh, and that cord bag, too. It’s enormous, and like the majority of other plug-in hybrids based on conventional internal combustion cars, there isn’t a good location to store it. There is no space for batteries under the cargo floor, and the engine is stored in the frunk. You are therefore left with holding this object.

At least Audi thought to use carabiners to attach it to the cargo area locks. Moreover, do you really need to transport this cord? No, is the response. Because it is a plug-in hybrid, you never need to charge it. The Q5 can continue to function as a standard hybrid indefinitely if you find yourself away from home, have left this large bag behind, and lack access to a dedicated charger. That is the real benefit of a plug-in hybrid over an all-electric vehicle.
