There is a stalk for the wipers and turn signals on the left side of the steering column. This stalk will be utilized to activate or deactivate the valet mode and the remote start.
Push the stalk on the left side of the steering column forward (toward the front of the vehicle) and up to switch the valet mode off (remote start on) (towards roof). Maintain for three seconds (parking lights will flash).

What does the button for valet override do?

Thanks to convenient Audi connect features, you can lock and unlock your car with the myAudi smartphone, receive a status report about it, and even locate it in a parking lot. Vehicle Status Report *, Car Finder *, and Remote Lock/Unlock * will be a part of Audi connect CARE * by March 8, 2019, so you’ll still have access to them whether or not you decide to keep paying for Audi connect PRIME * after your trial or subscription period has ended. If push notifications are enabled in the device settings, this feature is accessible. This makes the assumption that you are physically close to your car (for example, when going out to dinner) and uses the phone’s location services to pinpoint the border. Zoom out and place a pin in the vicinity of the vehicle to turn on the Valet alert to choose a new location. Please be aware that Valet notifications do not stop drivers from going over the designated top speed limit or from entering or leaving a certain area.
When the myAudi app is open and logged in while the phone is linked to the car’s Wi-Fi hotspot*, online radio is still accessible. The ability to set favorite stations within the app has been removed.
In the app, go to the Profile tab >> User management >> PIN to modify the four-digit remote services PIN that you use to remotely lock and unlock your car. You will have to enter your vehicle’s Key User credentials again if you reset your PIN.
Until you log into the MMI of the vehicle to connect your myAudi PIN, your eight-digit myAudi PIN will be shown on the Vehicle page of the app. After pairing, iOS users can still locate their PIN in the Vehicle Connections area of the app’s Profile tab. In many current automobiles, security locking of the steering column or gear lever is paired with ignition switches or locks (such as in Saab Automobile vehicles). The switch in the latter is located between the seats, protecting the driver’s knee from injury in the event of an accident.
Most new automobiles now come standard with keyless entry systems, which use a door-mounted keypad, key fob, wireless-enabled handheld computer (such a smartphone or tablet), or remote control in place of a traditional key. Some of them are hands-free in the sense that when the user’s handheld device is detected close to the vehicle, the door to the vehicle is immediately unlocked.
Some advanced car keys are advertised as theft deterrents. Mercedes-Benz utilizes a key that connects with the car’s computer via an encoded infrared beam rather than a cut metal piece to start the vehicle. The automobile can be started if the codes match. If lost, these keys can be expensive to replace and cost up to $400 USD.
