Always give the jack* a stable platform on the ground. (The tool set for the Audi A8 has the jack.) Use a sizable, sturdy board or another type of support if necessary. To stop the jack from slipping on a hard, slippery surface (like tiles), use a rubber pad or something comparable. WARNING!.
Find the marking (recess) on the door sill that is nearest to the wheel that has to be replaced. Fig. 1. The indication under the door sill is in front of the jacking point.
The cylindrical portion of the arm of the jack’s arm, shown in Fig. 2 (A), should be below the provided plastic socket as you wind up the jack* under the jacking point.
Align the jack* so that the movable base plate of the jack (B) is flat on the ground and the cylindrical section of the arm (A) fits in the plastic mount under the door sill. The jacking point (A) must be supported vertically by the base plate (B).
- Verify the jack’s stability. The jack runs the risk of slipping or sinking in if the ground beneath it is slick or mushy.
- To elevate the Audi A8, just use the jack* that came with the vehicle. A other Audi A8’s jack could not fit your Audi A8, which could be dangerous.
- Only use the jack* at the jacking points that are behind the door sill markings, and make sure it is properly aligned. If the jack* is not correctly engaged, there is a danger of damage since it may suddenly slip off.
- Variations in temperature and load can cause the height of the parked Audi A8 to fluctuate on Audi A8s with adaptive air suspension/adaptive air suspension sport*.
- Never start the Audi A8’s engine when it’s in danger of colliding!
- If work is to be done underneath the Audi A8, make sure it is securely supported on appropriate stands to reduce harm risk!
It is forbidden to raise the Audi A8 on its sills. The Audi A8 may sustain damage if the jack isn’t used at the jacking points that are behind the markings on the door sill.

Jack mode: what is it?
- Model S should be centered between the lift posts.
- If your Model S has air suspension, it automatically levels itself even when the power is turned off (see Jack Mode). Set the suspension as follows using the touchscreen:

- To raise the suspension to its highest point, depress the brake pedal and then select Very High.

When a weight-bearing object supports the weight of the vehicle, Jack mode could unintentionally activate (for example the bumper of the vehicle is resting on a curb).
Even when the power is off, the air suspension system automatically levels itself. Before lifting or jacking, you MUST turn this mechanism off by switching to Jack mode. The Model S may attempt to level itself if the air suspension is not turned off, which might result in significant damage, physical harm, or even death.
Even if charging is not happening, never lift the Model S when the charge wire is attached.
Avoid working on a vehicle that isn’t properly supported. This could result in severe harm, physical harm, or even death.
LiftING FROM UNDER THE BATTERY OR SIDE RAILS IS NOT ALLOWED. The approved body lift positions are the only places to place the lift arm pads. The only authorized lifting points for the Model S are those indicated. Any additional locations can be damaged upon being lifted. The guarantee does not cover damage brought on by improper Model S lifting.
How does the Audi Q7 activate jack mode?
When the jacking mode is engaged, the indicator lamp in the instrument cluster illuminates.
Before changing a wheel, the jacking mode must be chosen so that the automated air suspension control features do not obstruct the jacking-up process.
Variations in temperature and loading can affect the height of the parked car.
If the vehicle is moving at a speed greater than 15 km/h, the jacking mode is immediately turned off.
How can I tell if the compressor for my air suspension is damaged?
Since the compressor is the essential component of your car’s air suspension, failures are most likely to occur here. The compressor maintains the system’s inflation under normal conditions, but over time it may become worn down from being overworked or working longer than it should. The biggest indicator that your compressor is malfunctioning is if your car is sitting lower than usual. The suspension will droop and the automobile will sit lower to the ground if the air springs are given less pressure. The vehicle might finally be raised to the proper height by the compressor, but eventually it won’t be able to generate enough pressure to support the weight of the car.
How does Audi Air Suspension work?
Audi’s Adaptive Air Suspension is a four-corner air spring suspension system that is electronically regulated. A central control unit receives information from accelerometers and other sensors on the axles and uses that information to modify the suspension appropriately, individually altering each corner in milliseconds. Air suspension can lower the vehicle as it travels faster, lowering its center of gravity and enhancing aerodynamics. The mechanism softens for a comfortable ride when traveling along straight, smooth highways. The Adaptice Air Suspension will stiffen during turns or when braking, eliminating body roll. Additionally, the technology levels the vehicle, ensuring a constant height regardless of the weight of the load. The MMI system allows for system adjustment.
What functions the Audi jacking mode?
It only disables the system and stops the suspension from attempting to self-level. This keeps the automobile from moving on you once you start to jack it up and prevents harm to its components.
How can a tire be removed from jack mode?
If the Model X has air suspension, it automatically levels itself even when the power is turned off. You must switch on Jack mode to turn off self-leveling in order to protect the car from damage when jacking or raising it. Even when the Model X is turned off, self-leveling still happens, although Jack mode stops it.
Additionally, Model X switches to Jack mode automatically if it notices that the vehicle cannot be lowered to the desired height or if it notices that anything is bearing the weight of the vehicle (for example the bumper of the vehicle is resting on a curb).
