How To Jack Up Audi A6

When I quickly searched this on Google, I discovered there wasn’t a clear solution (mind you my search may not have been that thorough).

Since this was my first time jacking up a car, I can see how it could be difficult to know what order to go in, especially with all the plastic underneath. However, this is what I found to work, and it only took a few minutes.

It makes no difference which side you begin on; in my instance, I did so on the driver’s side:

1. Jack up the rear driver side high and position a jack stand beneath the jack point on the front driver’s side.

2. Jack up the rear passenger side and set a jack stand underneath the jack point on the rear driver’s side. (At this stage, you have jacked up one side of the car.)

3. Jack up the front passenger side and set the jack stand underneath the jack point on the rear passenger side.

4. Jack up the front lower control arm and lower the car. Then, position the jack under the front passenger side. At this stage, very little jacking is necessary to place your last jack stand beneath the front passenger side jack point.

On an Audi A6, where do you mount the jack?

Place a jack stand under the front and back points of the car if you’re raising it completely off the ground, then lower it before repeating the process on the other side. In a similar manner, if you are only jacking up the rear, place the jack stand beneath the farthest-reaching reinforced point.

On an Audi A5, how do you operate the jack?

Put the vehicle in first gear (manual transmission) or position P on the selector lever (automatic gearbox).

Find the marking (recess) on the door sill that is nearest to the wheel that has to be replaced. Fig. 1. The marker on the door sill is in front of the jacking point.

Turn the jack up until the claw completely encircles the seam on your Audi A5 (Fig. 2 -A).

Place the jack in the proper position so that the claw of the jack (A) fits around the seam and the jack (Bmovable )’s base plate is flat on the ground. The jacking point (A) must be supported vertically by the base plate (B).

In order to attach the crank handle to the jack, place it inside the knob’s opening. To fix the crank handle in place, turn it either clockwise or counterclockwise.

Wind the crank handle to raise the Audi A5 till the problematic wheel is off the ground.

Only the jacking points indicated on the door sill in Fig. 2 may be used. Each wheel has its own jacking point. Apply the jack only where indicated. Caution!.

The Audi A5 may fall off the jack if there was an unstable surface underneath it. Always provide the jack a stable basis to stand on. Use a sizable, sturdy board or another type of support if necessary. To keep the jack from slipping on a hard, slippery surface (like tiles), use a rubber pad or something comparable.

  • Reduce the danger of damage by keeping the jack’s base from slipping.
  • Only position it and apply the jack at the proper jacking places. The Audi A5 could roll off the jack and cause injury if it is not placed firmly.

It is forbidden to raise the Audi A5 on its sills. The Audi A5 may sustain damage if the jack isn’t used at the jacking points that are behind the markings on the door sill.

It is ideal to put the jack stands right next to the jack. Place the jack stands directly on the metal piece adjacent to your jack points, inside the car. There are two in the front and two on the back. Then, slowly drop the jack. until it is resting on the jack stands, lower the automobile.

How can I locate the car’s jack points?

In order to safely lift the car, most automobiles have strengthened metal ribs that serve as the jacking points. There are typically four jacking points on each car. They are situated directly behind the front wheels and just in front of the back wheels, underneath the rocker panels of the vehicle.
