On a highway, you may determine whether your odometer is reading accurately by paying close attention to the mile markers and the reading. As you pass the first and fourth mile markers on your four-mile journey, keep an eye on the odometer’s reading. The tenths of miles need to line up perfectly. If not, there may be a problem, or the most likely case is that a change in tire size has resulted in a slightly erroneous odometer reading.
