How To Change Audi Q5 Windshield Wipers

When the wipers are halfway down your windshield, switch them ON before turning them off on your Audi Q5.

Lift your wipers up from the windshield

It should be simple to lift your wipers up and away from your windshield once they are stopped halfway on your windshield. The old wipers on your windshield should protrude and point away from you. Now providing for simple access throughout the remaining modifying procedure.

Before you remove old wiper blades

Make sure to note which side the new blade length belongs on. Measure the previous blades’ length or simply compare it to the new Trico wiper blades. Then, position the fresh blades on the appropriate side.

Various wiper manufacturers employ various push button attachment styles.

What is Audi Wiper Position Change?

You don’t have to go through the infotainment center to reach the “Wiper Change Position.” Simply turn the ignition off and depress the wiper leaver to place the car in the wiper change position. For people living in northern climates, this is the best way to stop the wiper blade from freezing to the windshield.

Photo 3: Other wipers have a locking clip

Slide the locking clip out by lifting the wiper arm a few inches off the glass. Pull the arm away from the splined shaft after lowering it.

Every wiper arm has a hinge at the base that enables it to flex as it follows the window’s curve. Even with a fresh blade, if the wiper skips over some areas, it’s likely that the hinge is corroded and binding. Due to their little use, rear window wipers are the most frequently affected.

Although you can grease the hinge, this is only a short-term solution.

Usually, the rust and binding come back. Replace the wiper arm in order to solve the issue permanently (available at an auto parts store).

A splined shaft accepts all wiper arms (Photo 1). Some have nuts holding them in place. Simply lift the protective cap, release the nut, and pull off the arm to replace that type (Photo 2).

The locking clip secures the other type in place. Install the replacement arm after unlocking it as demonstrated in the bottom picture (Photo 3).

Turn on the engine and operate the windscreen wiper lever to return the windscreen wipers to their initial position.

  • If the wipers are not in the service position, DO NOT take them off the screen. Otherwise, it could harm the wiper motor or the paint job on the bonnet.
  • When the wiper arms are up and off the glass, never move your Audi Q3 or use the windscreen wiper lever. Otherwise, the wipers would revert automatically to the park position, which might harm the bonnet and the windscreen.
  • The servicing position can also be used, for instance, to attach a cover over the windscreen in the winter to prevent ice buildup.
