Is buying a 2011 Audi A4 worthwhile?
The 2011 Audi A4 is an intriguing option if you’re searching for a vehicle with a nice blend of agility and respectable fuel economy. The A4 will also surprise you with its luxurious interior and top safety ratings.
Audi A4 dependability
With a reliability rating of 3.5 out of 5, the Audi A4 is ranked 14th among 31 luxury midsize automobiles. It has average ownership expenses since the cost of annual repairs is $739 on average. When compared to all other vehicles, the frequency and severity of repairs are both about average.
Cost
Compared to an average of $739 for luxury midsize automobiles and $652 for all vehicle types, the total yearly cost of repairs and maintenance for an Audi A4 is $739.
the typical annual sum for unplanned maintenance and repairs for all model years of a car. A vehicle’s greater average cost alone does not imply that it is less dependable. For instance, your car’s parts and labor may be pricey, especially if it’s a European luxury model, but if there are few serious problems and frequent service visits on average each year, that’s a sign of a dependable vehicle.
The typical annual frequency at which a vehicle is taken in for unplanned maintenance and repairs. This metric is produced by monitoring millions of distinctive automobiles over a number of years to ascertain the typical yearly visits for each make and model. Controls were included to prevent small, routine shop visits, such those for oil changes.
The severity element of dependability calculates the likelihood that a repair will cause a significant problem. The cost of a repair is assessed to be excessively expensive given the unscheduled nature of the repair if it is three times the average annual repair cost for all models. Due to their more expensive labor and component expenses, premium and luxury brands have a higher barrier.
Frequency
Owners of Audi A4s need to take their cars in for unplanned repairs on average 0.4 times annually, compared to 0.6 times for luxury midsize cars and 0.4 times for all vehicle models.
Severity
The Audi A4 has a 13 percent chance of having a serious or major repair issue, compared to a 12 percent average for luxury midsize automobiles and 12 percent for all vehicle models.
What year Audi A4 is most reliable?
It is generally acknowledged that 2001 is the most dependable year for the Audi A4. The original B5 was produced until this year, and if you can find one with the 1.9 TDI, it’s worth buying. The 1.9 TDI is an extremely dependable engine; some of them have been driven 500,000 miles while receiving routine maintenance and are still on the road.
The 2001 Audi A4’s only drawback is that it lacks some of the more modern equipment seen in more recent models. 2010 is a fantastic year to look at if you’re seeking for something with improved technology. Around that time, Audi was making some excellent vehicles and received the fewest complaints annually.
In terms of dependability, Audi has experienced some ups and downs over the years, but they appear to be returning to the correct track. If you are considering a new A4, I wouldn’t worry about it surviving up to more than 150,000 kilometers.
What Audi A4 years to avoid?
If you’re considering the Audi A4, you should steer clear of 2011 and 2014. Compared to the other years, these had the most complaints. The 2011 A4’s terrible oil consumption is the main issue that has been brought up.
For the 2011 model year, the A4’s oil system became unnecessarily complicated, which caused it to use oil significantly more quickly than other vehicles. As a result, the car eventually runs out of oil. Due to insufficient lubrication, a car with low oil can suffer more engine damage.
Because replacing the oil system in an A4 from 2011 or 2014 would cost roughly $6,000, many people choose to replace the engine instead. The entire engine has to be taken apart in order to be repaired, which takes a lot of time and increases the cost for the business.
Which Audi A4 engine is best?
The 1.9L TDI engine is the greatest one you can purchase for an Audi A4. This excellent diesel engine generates 228 pound-feet of torque and 130 horsepower. Even while it might not seem like much, that is a fantastic choice for the A4, a compact car.
The 1.9L TDI engine excels in this regard. These little diesel motors are some of the most durable ones ever made. There are several of them still on the road today who have driven more than 300,000 miles, and some of them have exceeded 500,000. If they choose to swap engines, many consumers opt to replace the gasoline engines in their A4s with the 1.9L TDI.
Although it’s an older option, the A4’s 1.9L engine has been reliable over the years. If you’re considering an Audi and want it to survive longer, you should think about choosing a diesel model because they have better gas mileage and a longer lifespan than their gasoline counterparts.

We had exceptional service from Heston Cars London when we purchased this vehicle. From London, we drove to Dundee, where we were met and boarded the train to return. It was still pristine and enjoyable to drive, had everything (and more), and I would highly recommend spending a little extra money for a little bit of comfort and luxury. Wonderful experience purchasing from Heston vehicles London, highly recommended

Knowing the car was used made it easier for me to underline checks because I could hunt for a less expensive vehicle. Space was useful in difficult scenarios like rushing to get bulky goods from my residence to work while I was running late. Now that I know I’ll be traveling in a comfy car, I have lots of energy for my commutes to work. I’m happy to have found a mid- to long-term vehicle that will serve me well in the following years.

My Audi A4 has 30k miles on it and I’ve had it for around 5 years. The initial drive was fantastic, but as the car wore on and even with all of Audi’s maintenance, there was a lot of inside noise. The automobile is stunning and immediately draws your attention, however I was only managing 28 mpg in town, which I consider to be abysmal compared to 300 to 330 mpg when driving very cautiously and lightly. A full tank will cost roughly 70 to 80 pounds and provide 330 miles of travel.
If you have the money, there shouldn’t be any issues. On highways, despite what some people claim, you can definitely travel 50 miles further by driving like a girl while maintaining a lorry’s pace.

I’ve owned this car for approximately 4 years; it had 80k miles when I bought it, and it just passed the 100k-mile mark while maintaining that strong Audi feel.
Firstly, the highlights I think the Quattro all-wheel drive system is fantastic; it delivers power in all weather conditions and significantly enhances handling. Whereas some German saloon competitors selling for the same price struggle to maintain traction, the Audi effortlessly pulls away without a fuss.
Regardless of your musical preferences, the Bose speakers are outstanding and offer a superb sound. Most A4s come equipped with temperature control, but if you want to save some gasoline, I recommend keeping it on unless you’re on a long road drive or one of our typical British heatwaves is about to hit.
And if you enjoy your toys, you can look online for one with heated leather, sat nav, cruise control, and 4 wheel drive that costs $5,000 or less.
Although mine has a 220 horsepower petrol engine that makes it feel like a less powerful version of the RS4, it is still really good; however, tax for mine is 290 per year, and even if you drive like a vicar, you will be lucky to average 26 to 28 mpg.
Huge step forward from the previous model – which was already excellent!!!
2016
When I went to the dealership at a “special” sales event, I didn’t actually plan to buy a new car, but the A4 SE Ultra truly pleased me, so I did! Since then, I’ve found a ton of small improvements that combine to make this a fantastic car. The engine is fantastic; it performs well, uses little gasoline (current average is 61 mpg), and emits less than 100 g/km of CO2 ( so currently no tax). Additionally excellent are the road grip, ride comfort, and reduced cabin “noise.” I have LED lighting on my model, which is fortunate for me, and this is impressive. The inside LED pack is also impressive, though I’m not completely convinced because I occasionally think the sheer number of light sources is a little distracting. The Sav Nav system maintains a high level, and it is quite helpful that the maximum speed limit is continuously displayed. The audio system is of a great caliber, however despite what the handbook says, the interface won’t function with my old iPod. However, other technologies have shown to be effective. After 5000 miles of driving, I am still appreciating everything the car has to offer, and thoughtful extras like the “glove box” on the right side of the dashboard are a wonderful treat. Though I’m still considering my alternatives, I’m not quite confident that I will notice much of a difference in the ride characteristics. In general, I believe it to be one of my best purchases ever.

Excellent comfort and dependability. Although this car can have somewhat high operating costs, it more than makes up for them in comfort and dependability. I doubt you’ll find a better vehicle.

Very pleased with the A4 I bought from Mex Motors last weekend. Incredibly well-kept for a 2003 model with only 51300 miles on the odometer, the car drives beautifully. Simply find the brakes to be a touch sharp.
Despite forgetting to sign the car service book to indicate that it had recently been serviced, Mex Motors provided me with extremely exceptional service. If I phone their office, they will be happy to finish this.

By far the best automobile I’ve ever had, it has 139,000 miles on it and still drives like new. Even with the mileage, servicing is roughly yearly, and I still beam with pride after cleaning the vehicle.

I’ve had my car for nine years, from when it was new, and I’ve experienced no problems. I’ve traveled 105,000 miles using only the standard services. Excellent value for the money was provided.

Excellent dependability, yet expensive to buy, with significant maintenance and servicing expenses (for example, special order tyres required). The handling of the Audi four wheel drive system is superb.
Most of the story is told by my 4 and 5 star ratings. The back and brake lights, particularly the latter, have been the only minor issue I’ve encountered. At least five brake lights and three rear lights have needed to be replaced in the roughly 30 months that I’ve owned the car.
